Another drawing inspired by the Riddle Master trilogy by Patricia Mckillip. Deth playing a harp in a wooded grove, in one of his more peaceful moments.

Holy cow YES. Somebody else who drew fanart for this series!! :boogie: I borrowed (...and might not be giving back...) the books from my father about a week ago and I'm halfway through the Harpist in the Wind right now.

This is the closest drawing I've found to how I pictured Deth. You did an excellent job capturing his expression. I also love how you drew him so young--I pictured him to have a sort of ageless, indistinguishable face, and it's brilliant to see him portrayed like this here as opposed to the Gandalf that the book covers kept drawing him as.

KUDOS~ My evening was made by this.

Wow! A "Harpist in The Wind" reference! You've captured the essence wonderfully.

I always imagined him eternally young but the cover art I saw portrayed him with such wizened features.

Holycrap! O_o Someone else that's read this series! *is shocked and ecstatic* Beautiful rendition of Deth...I specifically like the way you've gone with your own character design, rather than aping any of the cover illustrations. (considering when these books were written, it's a mercy to anyone with aesthetic principles and a pair of functioning eyes -_-; )

It's probably been mentioned already, but there IS just a touch of awkwardness with his left leg...otherwise, I'm in awe of the way you've handled the strings, and the beautiful sensitivity of the hair...just lovely!

Keep it up!

Thank you, Adele.
I am now on the third book of this trilogy, and I am completely, completely in love. You have no idea how glad I am to find your art, which is just wonderful enough to express the feelings of McKillip's marvelous writing and convey her beautifully-wrought characters.
