The Eleventh Doctor portrait from my "No More" painting. He's wearing one of those gorgeous revamped Time Lord collars from the 50th Anniversary special that I've been dying to draw since last November! Mixed media: watercolor and digital.

I just think that would be an interesting juxtaposition. River is awesome for a human, but I think it would really bring out how truly ancient and amazing the Doctor is. We're so used to seeing 11 as this rather puppyish jester of a character, almost the incarnation of "young" and yet, this picture more truly represents the Doctor's soul, old and ancient, from a race that is old and ancient, a soul that sort of "towers" over other lesser, younger species, and yet, looking down at River in all her amazing humanness and love for him, would also show just how much that love meant to him, and just how, despite his ancient soul, they fit together so well.
Anyway, just an idea. That was the image that popped into my head when I saw this image of Time Lord 11 alone, looking down slightly, sad, but with such a full soul. A little bit awe inspiring, even a little bit frightening in the power it portrays, but I can easily see River, with her wild mane of curly hair and her soft battle dress, and her hard past, simply looking up at him with love, not awe inspired, but more an "I see you, and I love all of you" type expression. Something that lessens the burdens of the Doctor's Time Lord soul.
See, you must be a fantastic artist to inspire all that out of one picture. Thank you. It's gorgeous.
Amazing work! 😊
