Commission Portraits - Set 1 by Saimain Commission Portraits - Set 1 by Saimain
First batch of grayscale commission portraits in the style of "Secrets." Semi-realism, and very fun to paint. ^__^ Click "download" for a larger version.
Done with an 0.5 mechanical pencil and Photoshop 5.5.

First is Heiko, a dark character belonging to ~battgal, second is Elerus, ~Ardwenn's adorable little character holding a teddy bear, and last is Gypsy, a strong, beautiful character belonging to Benedict Wolfe. All characters © their creators.

What i see is a lot of emotion in these three pictures. This in the middle looks sooo cute and it seems as she is far away with her thoughts. The right one is so beautiful and looks so lovely and the left one seems to be thoughtful and handsome.
i love this work much.

Amazing pencil work! They look so real. As a user of .5 mechanical, I am deeply inspired. What size/type paper do you use, and how do you get such clean blending?
also, how would one go about getting a commission from you?

I use regular 8.5x11" printer paper (acid free), and I shade in layers--sometimes it takes several layers of shading before I get areas dark enough. I just use an eraser to keep things clean as I go. :) As for commissions, you can find all the information on the commissions page of my website: [link]

Wow! What a contrast between all these characters. Its really telling to your skill that you can handle such disparate character designs and moods, yet it still all looks as unified as it does.
