~Huge File Warning!~ (Updated to add 2011-2012)

I've been meaning to do an art-progress chart like this for a long time now, but had no idea how to go about it. Then I decided to break it down by individual characters, to show how they've grown along with my artwork throughout the years. Hopefully the writing is legible! ^__^;

It was a humbling experience to say the least, wading through some of my old sketches. Looking back at where I started out makes me wonder how anyone ever thought my artwork worth encouraging, heh. But if there's a lesson here, it's to never underestimate how far practice and determination can take you. If you have a passion for drawing, just keep drawing! One day you will look back and be amazed. :)

Faeren and artwork is Đcopyright Adele Lorienne (me) [link]

You can learn more about Faeren and the "Wars of Avenan" storyline on my website: [link]
You can find Morgan, Luke, Semiyar, Jason, Danny and Tim's art charts here:

this are amazing!! even the ones you made in 1998!!
i did the math and i am amazed that you begun drawing these characters when you were 16 or something... and to think that they have evolved to the amazing drawings you have of them now. How did you come up with this?!?!

Perhaps the most inspiring piece of this whole thing is where you said Min Rho “could always paint [your] lineart better than [you]” and that it just “pushed [you] to try harder.” That is one of my greatest failings in art, though I may have more or less shaken it with writing. Whenever someone bests me, I give up. I really need to get over that. Great things are on the other side of that hang-up!

Thank you so much for sharing these. They are inspirational in so many ways. :tighthug:

Looking at these character progress charts, it seems like you made huge improvements in a really short time. I know this is years, but there's a huge improvement and I think that's really impressive. I guess it probably didn't seem like it was fast improvement to you at the time...I know I always feel like I'm stuck in one place with my art -_-

You. Are. AMAZING. I love your art...and I wish you had finished the series. :( I own bought the first book...and was really sad when I found out I couldn't get the second one! But...I understand your reasoning behind not wanting to finish them...even though they were really good. Since no more will be printed, I am gonna cherish The Rover's Cripple forever!
