A glare to sour milk by Saimain A glare to sour milk by Saimain
A quick digital sketch of Morgan that I liked enough to post...mostly because of that glare. XD No, he's not injured, he's just wrapping his wrists in preparation for a battle.

I really like this!! I want so much to sketch loosely like this, but I cant ever seem to make myself do it.

But his face looks fantastic, I love his eyes and jawline.

It's a great way to sketch, isn't it? I've been sketching digitally for ages now... I love it for complicated compositions, where you can just enlarge one figure, move another further back, or flip them when you have them on layers... wouldn't miss it. ;)

Nice posture. Very anime somehow, isn't it? I know I've seen it in some. ;)

I love it :) You have the most wonderful ability to draw characters doing the simplest things, in such beautiful ways. I've tried doing that... but I just can't make them work for me. *sigh*

Good job... Are you going to color this?

Maybe it never occured to you because you - just like me - enjoy pencil drawing and sketching much more than digital sketching and drawing and like your pencil drawings much better than your digital works? ;)
But considering how good you are with digital drawings and paintings, maybe not.

Nice sketch by the way, I love how you're drawing hands.

Oh, I'm not switching to digital drawing...the tablet is way too smooth and my hands too shaky to make clean lines. Nothing will ever replace pencil for me. It's just a way to sketch out rough poses and work out the overall composition for a piece before I take it to pencil. That way I won't have to spend hours ruining paper by drawing and redrawing and erasing sketches that don't work out.

Okay, that makes sense. Even though I'm even used to do that with pencil, but I scribble lots of sketches on one sheet of paper and they're not expensive anyway…
I guess everyone has to find his/her own way of doing it which works best.

Cool :P
He looks like he's disturbed by something ... preoccupied, rather than glaring, but oh well, I guess people have different interpretations.

By the way, what help does bandaging yourself before a fight?? Nobody's asked this before so I guess maybe it's supposed to be obvious ... :O

Oh, and by the way Morgan is so CUUUTE!!!

It provides extra support and protection for your wrist, especially if you're going to be handling a sword or using your hand to punch/break things.

Oh, ok. But wouldn't it make your wrist stiff (and strong) but if using a sword would that kill flexibility so it's harder to flick around small movements and stuff??
By the way thanks I learned something lol :D

If you've been drawing forever it may not have occurred to you. Took my sister a little while to transfer to doing everything digitally too, she continued doing sketches and then scanning and inking and colouring digitally for ages. For me it was as soon as I worked out how to control the Wacom, but only because I'm that disorganised that finding paper was always a pain, and then I could never get scale right and would always draw something too big or small for a piece of paper and thus having an arbitrary canvas was extremely appealng XD

Great sketch, he does look rather cranky :) Love the quick shading job.

lol you're not alone in this recent discovery! My latest painting was done with digital sketching and graphite transferring as well. Seriously, I don't know why it took me so long to figure it out either! I guess it's the 'purity' of sketching it all in one place...the same reason I always feel a twinge guilty mixing watercolors and color pencils (the teachers always said this was a NO NO!)

Heehee you already know I think this character is always fun/grumpy/awesome. And randomly awesome forearm anatomy!

Heh perhaps! Art school has its pluses and minuses, the best being just hanging out with other cool artistic folks and being pushed to try different things.

But these days a day hanging out with cool art peeps and painting is all I need!

Hehe, that's exactly how I work to do my cleaned lineart And for some reasons, we can see better every things that can be made wrong on the drawing, like proportion, angle ect.

Oh and, I hope to see it finished! It will looks great! ^_^

I LOVE Morgan with short hair! Which is ironic, because I usually like long hair best :D I don't know... with it cut, maybe he just looks like he cares more now. Eh?
Anyways, sketch looks great! :D Is it more difficult to sketch on Ps or about the same (or easier)?
